The war in Syria has been raging endlessly. The conflict between the Free Syrian Army rebel fighters and Syrian government forces has been the most drawn out of all of the revolts from the Arab Spring. For some time photo editors relied on poor quality images from mobile phones, or frame grabs from a mobile video, released days after they had been taken.
Although it may have taken some time for him to gain access, this set of extraordinary images shot in Aleppo by Associated Press photographer Manu Brabo – within the last week – found him risking his life to get close to the rebels to convey the lengths they will go to fight for their cause.
