Club or country for goal memories?

Let's back-track a few days...
With the England-US match media discussion centring, understandably, on Robert Green's first-half clanger, everybody forgot about Clint Dempsey, the American goal-scorer.
Dempsey, who plays for Fulham in the English Premier League, agreed for one quick question and that surely, but with a pause for thought though, had to be...is that the most important goal you've ever scored?
Dempsey: "Ha. No, the most important goal I've scored in my career was
either the one against Liverpool that stopped Fulham being relegated,
or the goal against Juventus that put us through to the next round of
the Europa League."
Fair enough I thought, it is only natural that a player would reserve
special memories for vital club goals - Dempsey played over 45 games
for the Londoners last season - over strikes that secure international
draws, even if the strike in question was buried at a World Cup.
Then Dempsey, a mischievous glint in his eye, added: "But we'll see, it
depends on how the rest of the group games go. If it turns out that
this point was the one that puts us through, then it will be my most
important one."
The World Cup: still the pinnacle of football.
