Among the deals this week, Indian IT giant Tata looks ready to snap up a subsidiary of British Telecoms, and Apple buys Yahoo! News UK.
(Jan 18) Indian IT services company Tata is set to acquire BT Mosaic, a digital media management platform, from its UK owners British Telecom.

(Jan 18) Apple has bought Yahoo! News UK, a mobile advertising network to smartphone applications and media players, for an undisclosed sum.

(Jan 15) American book publisher and manufacturer Courier Corporation has bought  HIghcrest Media, a company that streamlines textbook production for commercial and educational use. The deal was for a undisclosed sum.

(Jan 15) Duncan McIntosh, a US publisher and events firm, has acquired Editor & Publisher, a 126-year-old newspaper business trade magazine, putting it back into production in print and online. The terms of the deal were not published.

(Jan 12) Chinese online games developer Shanda Games is set to acquire San Francisco firm Mochi Media , a distributor of browser-based games, for US$80 million (Dh293.84m). The deal comprises $60m cash and $20m in shares.

(Jan 11) Telecommunications giant Motorola Inc has purchased SecureMedia, a developer of security systems for IP video distribution and management and digital rights management. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
