Food festival to showcase regional Moroccan cuisines

If you thought Moroccan cuisine consisted of nothing but piles of couscous, then you’d be advised to broaden your gastronomic horizons by attending an upcoming food festival.

Agadir restaurant at the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort is hosting the Journeys Through Morocco promotion, at which a different regional cuisines from the north African country will be served each month.

It starts on February 1 with food from the northern Tangier region. The area’s proximity to the Mediterranean means that the cuisine is inspired by Portuguese and Spanish dishes, which are then married with traditional Andalusian cookery methods.

In March, it moves to Casablanca, where traditional fare such as couscous and seafood are the mainstay of its cookery. Then in April, the food will be inspired by Marrakesh, the city that mixes French and Berber influences.
