There's currently no public plans to launch the iPhone in Kuwait, although I'd be betting the carriers over there are trying really hard to land the deal.

The iPhone 3G is currently available in the UAE without a postpaid plan (between Dh2680 to Dh3055) and is unlocked. Until Etisalat (or du) announces their 3GS plans, we could only assume that a similar, but not exact, offer would be made for the new iPhone in the UAE.

Man, that means I really have to consider wether it's worth it or not. I was like hoping the 3GS would be around Dh1800, but it seems it will cost a little fortune for a cellphone. I'll just see how much my iPhone 2G will sell before considering the 3GS ;p.

I cannot see 3G S on the website but I guess they will sell it when it launches.

Just wanted to know is iPhone 3G from Etisalat really unlocked. So basically I can take it to any other country and use local sim card and get all the updates without a problem?

Yes, I believe the iPhones sold by Etisalat are indeed unlocked. While I have not personally used one outside the UAE with a local carrier's SIM card, other people who have bought their iPhones in the UAE have been able to use US SIM cards when traveling.

there some few shops here in UAE selling the IPHONE 3GS for around 5000 aed for the 16gb white and black and 6000 aed for 32gb but that price for the iphone here in uae is too expensive but those iphone's are officially unloked from italy and australia.

I can confirm David's statement that an unlocked phone from Dubai works outside the UAE with simcards from other counties. I bought an unlocked iphone on the airport in Dubai a year ago, and it works perfectly fine with local simcards in Nigeria and Thailand.
I am travelling from Nigeria to Thailand via Dubai early August and I am really hoping that I will be able to buy an unlocked iphone 3GS at that time.

i mean i cant compare those 2 when iphone is prestige , with Apples Innovation Iphone is a Prestige Smart Phone which is flexible to the extent of its manual but not user flexibility , and with the PRE2 i believe its a new change to the smartphones market , look at the operating system it isnt a windows nor a mac or linux but its all in one =) a WEB Operating System ( WEBOS2.0 ) is the touchstone of smartphones generation , in my understanding u guys all have been in tough times , life tribulations etc.. and problems .. you cant add more stress to our delicate brains , and yes i agree perfectly that iphone is simple , but to learn a PRE2 it takes less then an hour but after that imagine ur flexibility , remember its a WEBOS2.0 that means its like imagining firefox in watch-movies-links.net when opening tabs and running embedded videos . i am not sure if its possible to run multiple webs but im sure its possible ;) because webos is just my win and this is my phone , get the iphone3GTR or a Supra i believe this pre2 will save our lives forever with friends and everybody , btw remember blackberrys win is the bbmessenger , but pre2 mentioned u can reply a telecommunication method by any means necessary that means maybe ... a webos tool will provide us to reply back to bbmessengers through mail but not through IM unless they socialize their networks with the WEB :D
